Aquarium Fish

Product Description
The great amount of detail found in the very best books on animal life sometimes makes them too technical for non-specialists. But here is an exception--a book praised by life scientists for its accuracy, yet also fascinating and very useful to ordinary aquarium hobbyists. Filled with practical advice, the book features 300 full-color photographs as well as numerous accurate line drawings.

Baensch Aquarium Atlas Vol. 1

Book Description This new edition has been entirely revised and over 800 color photos have been exchanged for better quality and more detailed photography. Also all the name changes and the new scientific names have been updated. A new section about the freshwater invertebrates (snails, crabs, shrimps, crayfishes) has been added. Over 90 pages have been added. The technological tips for the aquarium keeping have been updated to the 21st century!

This book is written to fill the gap between the simple guides, those small books on special topics, and the big books only a few hobbyists need...and for which fewer have the funds. It offers mega-doses of information, concentrated so that it is informative and interesting. Included in this book are photos of over 600 species of fish and 100 aquatic plants, yet this is not an encyclopedia of fish and plants but a practical guide on the keeping, care, breeding and adaptation of aquarium fish and plants. For both biological and aesthetic reasons, we feel live plants and fish belong together.

Baensch Aquarium Atlas Vol. 2

Book Description
Originally, only one volume was planned. You, dear reader, have decided otherwise. The comments received were so numerous and so clearly in favor of a second volume that the authors had to grant the readers' wish. The result is present here. This volume turned out more extensive than the first. With over 900 species of fish and over 170 aquatic plants included in this second volume, that is more than an aquarist could ever keep in his life, but interests are very variable and everyone's preference is not equal. Volume 2 of the Aquarium Atlas purposely does not go further into sophisticated and highly specialized hardware but rather into the breadth of the hobby. This allows us to give you more information on additional fishes and plants.
